What Splitsly is

Splitsly is a record-keeping tool. It tracks what a group of people have spent and what they owe each other. It’s not a bank, a wallet, a payment gateway or a payment aggregator, and it’s not licensed as any of those, because it never holds, routes or issues money.

Payments happen somewhere else

Settle-up hands a standard UPI payment link to your own UPI app. You review and confirm the payment there, with your own bank. Splitsly receives no confirmation from any bank or payment network, and none exists to receive. A settlement in your ledger is a statement by one of you that a payment was made. The other person can confirm it or dispute it.

If a payment fails, is sent to the wrong person, or is never made at all, that is between you, the other person and your banks. Splitsly can show you the record. It can’t reverse a transfer it was never part of.

The ledger is shared

Anything you add to a group is visible to everyone in that group, including their share of it and your name against it. Deleting an expense you created reverses it with a compensating entry rather than erasing history, so the other members can see what changed.

Accuracy

Splitsly does the arithmetic carefully, in whole paise, and every split is checked to reconcile exactly to the total before it is saved. It can’t check whether what you typed is what happened. The numbers are only as right as what the group puts in.

What it costs

Splitting, groups, every split type, settle-up and unlimited expenses are free, with no advertising on any tier. A paid tier may be added later covering only features that carry a real per-use cost. If that happens, nothing that is free today becomes paid.

Your account

Keep your sign-in method secure. You can sign out of individual devices from settings, and you can delete your account at any time. We may suspend an account that is being used to harass other members or to fabricate settlements.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, you will see it in the app before it takes effect, not in a silently updated page. Questions go to hello@splitsly.space.
